After Martha was cast in the play And Then They Came For Me, first as a member of the ‘Hitler Youth’ and then in the lead role of ‘Young Eva’, Auschwitz survivor Eva Schloss – Anne Frank’s posthumous stepsister – became a major part of her life for more than a decade. Martha portrayed Eva on stage, followed her around the world for her film Eva’s Mission and came to know her as a friend. For a decade, she explored with Eva the horrors of the Holocaust, becoming a witness of the witness.
